All the information you need for buying or selling a membership. All communication throughout the process of selling a membership should go through the VP of membership. Be sure to select membership in the menu when using the contact us link.

Selling

You can add your membership to the BSC website, where we list memberships for sale. If you would like to add your membership for sale, please send over your preferred contact information to list.

You can also sell via word of mouth, but posting on the site will let people know that your membership is for sale if they are on the waitlist or searching the site.

You set the price for your membership, and those proceeds go to you. For the sale, the swim club does receive a $150 transfer fee that can either be paid from the buyer or the seller.

Once you have a buyer, we need to do a few things to make the sale process go smoothly:

1. $150 Transfer Fee: Be sure the buyer is aware of the $150 transfer fee payable to BSC. This is separate from the sale price you and the buyer will agree on. The buyer or seller can pay this. This is a one-time fee per transaction.

2. Two completed website forms (one for buyer and one for seller):

• Once you have a buyer, they need to be sure they are on the BSC waitlist on our website. They can use this link to join the waitlist https://brentwoodswimclub.com/member-dues/. Just click “free purchase” under wait list application.
• We also ask that you (the seller) fill out this short form so I can capture a few important contact details for the buyer. https://brentwoodswimclub.com/membership-transfer-form/

3. Sale Price & Acknowledgement of payment: We like to keep track of the “market rate” of how much the memberships are selling for, so please let us know what the membership sold for. Please also let us know when you have the payment cleared in your bank account, so we know that it is finalized.

4. We will reach out to the buyer once we have their contact info. Once we receive confirmation from you (the seller) that the funds have cleared in your account and we have the $150 transfer fee, then we will make the switch in our system and the sale will be final.

Buying

Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club is a private member owned club.

Memberships are limited, and we are currently at capacity.

The only way to become a member at this time is to purchase a share from a current member who is selling.

• Please be sure to join the waitlist as this makes you visible to members who are selling their membership.
• Please understand being on the waitlist does not put you “in line” to eventually be up next for a membership. It is simply a list of interested buyers that is visible to membership, which makes it easier to sell when the time comes.

The decision to whom the membership will be sold and for how much is at the sole discretion of the seller.
